A silhouette is the image of a person, animal, object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single color, usually black, with its edges matching the outline of the subject. The interior of a silhouette is featureless, and the whole is typically presented on a light background, usually white, or none at all. The silhouette differs from an outline, which depicts the edge of an object in a linear form, while a silhouette appears as a solid shape.
It’s exactly the same when we see people on the street. We see individual figures like silhouettes. We see their body shape and outlines, but we are never able to look into these people with our eyes. Many people look attractive, we like the silhouette. We let ourselves be fooled by appearances and are sometimes attracted to people, without knowing them.
The Silhouette, or rather appearance is becoming more and more important in today’s society. To have the perfect body, in which the muscles of the six-pack clearly show in perfect light; to have a slim waist and long, thin legs. All this has become so important today, that we often no longer look behind the facade of the people. What counts is diligence and discipline. Who does not work hard on his body is to blame himself if he or she is not attractive enough. Externals determine our lives – by the way, in many things mine as well.
The hair should be long? No problem thanks to extensions. The hair should be blond? No problem – dyed immediately. The breast looks too small? No problem – what else did you invent the push-up bra for? And what the make-up can not fix, that will be retouched by app later in the photo.
The whole thing is presented as announced on a white background – to have a clean slate without mistakes, with so much self-confidence and self-presentation that we almost have to vomit.
What we partly forget about it are the inner values of the people. Is it really the silhouette that makes a person beautiful?
In fact, it is the character. After all, the personality of a human is, what makes him what he is. With his serious traits, his humor and everything that is still preserved in old age as well as at a young age. Without any gym, make-up or other fuss.
When I’m old I do not want to look young, but happy!
