Nutella Flower
Total time about 3 hours, working hours about 20 minutes!
What you need to make this wonderful Nutella flower is:
- 500 grams of flour
- 250 milliliters of milk
- 100 milliliters of oil
- 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar
- 1/2 cube of fresh yeast
- 400 grams of Nutella
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon of milk
Put the lukewarm milk together with the yeast and powdered sugar in a large bowl, mix and let rise for 2-3 minutes.
Add the flour and oil and mix everything together.
Let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
Then knead the dough again and divide it into 4 equal pieces that you shape into balls.
Then the balls are gradually rolled out to a diameter of approx. 26 cm.
Place the first piece of dough on a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush with Nutella.
Place the second piece of dough on top and brush again with Nutella. Proceed in this order until there is no more dough left. Do not smear any more Nutella on the last layer of batter.
Now place a glass in the middle of the dough layers and cut the dough layers outwards from the glass as if you were starting at 3, 6, 9 and 0 o’clock at a clock.

Halve the cuts again (you now have 4 parts per quarter).

Start with two parts next to each other. Lift one part up with your left hand and one part up with your right hand. Then turn the part of dough in your left hand counterclockwise twice around, the part of dough in your right two times clockwise. Pinch the end together a little. This is how the great flower pattern is created in the end.

Cover the Nutella flower and let it rise for 15 minutes.
Whisk the egg yolk with the milk and spread it on the Nutella flower.
Bake the flower for about 30 to 40 minutes in the oven at 170 degrees top / bottom heat.
